Thank you very much, just wanted to DM with someone who received these emails. We're trying to figure out the best way to proceed. But I also did want to warn the users here to beware their recent positive reviews. I would have to imagine they behave in other unethical ways if they are buying positive reviews too.
If anyone who received that email sees this and could send me a DM (as I don't want to derail this thread) I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you all!
I have not received such an email, but I've received other emails from them and I've done a few hundred of their HITs as well as a survey about my experience doing their HITs.
I don't have anything negative to say about Adsforce. Their HITs are easy, quick, and approve right away.
I won't fault them too badly for asking for positive reviews on TO. In my opinion, they've certainly earned a positive review from me as I have had an overall positive experience with them. The tasks are clear and their interface is good.
Also, for those curious about the content of the email someone posted the entire content of the email from Adsforce asking for positive reviews on TO:
Your action to give us positive reviews will keep us using Mturk by maintaining numbers of workers engaged with us. Otherwise, we might be forced to seek alternative platforms and not positinng HITs here anymore.
In my opinion, what they are doing is no worse than a local business asking customers to give them a positive review on Yelp if they were happy with their experience. If you don't like the business then you simply wouldn't leave a good review on Yelp. If you don't like Adsforce, then give them a bad score on TO.
In my case, I'll eventually get around to giving them a mix of 5/5s and 4/5s.
