If they have your account online, you could possibly contact a church and have the money sent to them by transfer and then they could give to you. Even Salvation Army may be able to assist you with that.

and just to add - I have plenty of money, so the question would be is there a way to transfer, open something or other - or do something with my bank to here? (My bank didn't have any ideas).

Do you have a Paypal account/card? Or you can withdraw the cash and put it on a Visa checkcard and just guard it with your life... (if you lost that you'd be SOL). If you can't withdraw the cash because a branch is not near you then look into sending a wire transfer to yourself from your bank to something like Moneygram. Think outside the box... there's always a way to shuffle money

I'm sorry I don't know enough about the details to be more helpful but I know wire transfers should be possible from one bank to another, I was requred to do this for...i forgot why now but part of what I had to pay to buy my house.. I don't know if western union etc is the same thing?

There are a lot of banks that have instant debit cards. I know TD does.
Google the banks in the area with instant debit cards and wire transfer to yourself.

There are a lot of banks that have instant debit cards. I know TD does.
Google the banks in the area with instant debit cards and wire transfer to yourself.
I hope it all works out

do I need to open an account (my fear is that I don't have an address here - that's what we are here to do - find a place, meet with realtors, shoot - buy a house).

I actually am okay financially, so this has to work out some way. I HAVE money.

I don't know. I will ask them tomorrow. I just looked at their page and it said mobile banking - but nothing about cash.
